French Beginner 2 courses: starting dates, times, and costs.

The Beginner 2 course is for those who have completed the Beginner 1 course at the French Centre or have completed a beginner level course elsewhere. In the Beginner 2 course - and don't let the grammatical terminology put you off - we continue to work on le présent de l'indicatif, we study le passé composé in detail, we touch upon l'imparfait and we start to examine les pronoms objets directs et indirects. If most of this sounds "Greek" to you it's the right course!!! Here are the more practical details:

Beginner 2 courses

  • Comprising of one 2.5 hour class per week, for 10 weeks (25 hours tuition).
  • Cost: $260 (the fee includes all course material, use of French Centre "Practice" CDs and GST).
  • Approximately 14 students per class.
  • Starting dates for the next Beginner 2 courses (you pick whichever suits you best):

        Evening (2010):

          Monday 23 August (6.15 - 8.45pm)

          Thursday 26 August (6.15 - 8.45pm)

          Daytime (2010):

          -----------------------------------------------------

Further Beginner 2 course details:

  • Each class includes a 10 minute coffee break.
  • Yes, we do offer discounts for couples and groups. If you would like a discount for your partner or friend, or if you would like to obtain a group discount, contact the French Centre on the details below.
  • The enrolment fee must be paid at least one week in advance of the course commencement date.
  • All French Centre "Practice" CDs must be regularly returned.
  • You'll need to dedicate approximately 2 to 3 hours per week outside of class time to your course, mostly to listen to the French Centre "Practice" CDs. Of course you are not expected to find time for one long three hour study session. Ten minutes here, twenty minutes there - perhaps whilst catching public transport, driving, or washing the dishes! - is perfect.
  • Classes are held at the French Centre which is located in Porter House, at level 2, 203 Castlereagh Street in the City, between Park & Bathurst streets (for the location map, click here).
